Retro Coat Pattern by Betsy RossOur versatile coat/jacket will add a little swing to your wardrobe. Two darts lend shape to the upper portion of the coat. Choose a retro, flared sleeve or a straight sleeve. Finish the coat with buttons, snaps or choose to let it hang loose in the center. You can even line it with contrasting fabric and create a lapel. Last but not least, you can choose to make this pattern in a long coat or a jacket that hits at the hip. There are lots of ways to make this coat unique! Notions needed: About 1/2 yard of interfacing Spool of regular weight thread Button, snaps, hook n' eyes....whatever you want! Acceptable fabrics: Look for something that has some weight to it, like wool, heavyweight cotton, twill or maybe even some lightweight upholstery fabric. Yardage required: 2-3 yards of fabric depending on length/size of coat
